Chimney Repair and Chimney Sweep

All Star Chimney Solutions is the leading chimney repair and chimney sweep in the north east region.  We provide residents and business owners exceptional service for all of their chimney needs.

When commercial or residential chimney service is required, you can count on us to provide for all of your needs. We are a fully licensed and insured chimney service company. Our highly skilled chimney repair specialists and chimney sweeps have the knowledge and the experience that is necessary to ensure that your chimney is in tip-top condition and that it is operating safely and efficiently.

Chimney Cleaning

Freeing a chimney from dust and soot doesn’t just prevent fires. It also increases air flow, which helps the fire burn efficiently, and it deodorizes the fireplace, getting that sooty smell out of the house. Since this routine sweep can prevent larger issues later on, we recommend having an inspection to see if it is necessary. Our technicians can provide a comprehensive inspection to make sure everything is running optimally.

Chimney Repairs

Whether it is the flue, liner, flashing, crown, vent, or even the hearth itself, we can fix it. Our highly trained staff is equipped to repair any part of the fireplace at any time of year. After our skilled technicians are finished repairing the chimney caps, there will not be any more issues with animals or rain getting in. Stop that wet sooty smell from coming in. Stop the birds and squirrels from invading. Get a sweeper in there today! No matter what the state or age of the chimney, our company is confident that we can restore it to its original glory.

Chimney Liners

In order to protect every other part of the fireplace, the liner must be intact. It shields the inner walls, guards against corrosion, and prevents too much creosote from building up. Yet liners do even more than this. They protect the house from too much heat being transferred to the wrong places. With the right lining installed correctly, the chimney won’t need a sweep for some time.

Our experienced technicians serve satisfied customers all over Suffolk County, Westchester, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts , New Jersey, New Hampshire, and Upstate NY. Wherever there is a fireplace, there we are. We are a full service team of experts who thrive on our profession. Most importantly, we do quality work at a fair price and care about the homeowner’s safety and wellbeing.

Being a chimney sweep is a centuries-old profession because it is so vitally necessary to having a safe and healthy heat source. We have mastered this trade by keeping some of the old school flare and technique while using state-of-the-art tools and material. This is how we are able to deliver the best experience to every customer.

We can cater to your unique chimney needs! Years of training and experience have made our team experts at successfully repairing and refurbishing any type of fireplace or woodstove. We believe in running our company ethically, with honesty, and with a focus on the health and safety of the homeowners. Just as importantly, chimneys are our passion. Understanding Your Chimney

At All Star Chimney Solutions, we truly believe that knowledge is a vital part of ensuring the proper and safe operation of your chimney. For that reason, we think it is imperative to teach you about the basics of your chimney.

The design of all chimneys is intended to exhaust smoke or waste gasses from a fireplace, and each and every chimney contains vital parts. At the very top of the chimney is the cowl. This part is crucial because it prevents birds, raccoons, rodents and other animals from nesting inside the chimney. Nesting animals in a chimney is not only a nuisance, but it can be very dangerous. The cowl also usually features a rain guard, which prevents snow and rain from going down into the chimney. There is also a metal wire mesh, which serves as a spark arrestor and minimizes burning debris from the rising out of the chimney and landing on the roof, on trees, or on other structures around the chimney. The cowl can also serve as a wind directional cap. When the wind blows, this cap will align with the wind, thus preventing a backdraft of smoke and the wind from blowing down the chimney.

Every chimney also contains a damper. The damper is a metal plate, and it can be positioned so that it will close off the chimney when it is not in use. The damper prevents air from blowing down the chimney and minimizes the amount of heat that is lost from the house through the chimney. There are two types of dampers:

  1. A top damper, which is a metal spring door that is placed at the head of the chimney. This kind of damper is attached to a long metal chain, which you can use to open and close the damper from the fireplace.
  2. A throat damper, which is a metal plate that is located at the base of the chimney, right above the firebox. This type of damper is attached to a lever, gear or a chain, which is used to open and close it.

The remaining space inside the chimney is called a flue.

Signs Your Chimney Needs to be serviced

If you notice any of the following signs that indicate your chimney needs to be repaired, it is imperative that you call All Star Chimney Solutions right away:

  • Damaged mortar joints
  • A rusted damper or firebox
  • Spalling Bricks (when the surface of the masonry pops out, peels off or flakes off)
  • Shaling flue tiles (when to think pieces of the chimney tile start to pile up at the bottom of the chimney)
  • A cracked chimney crown
  • Damage to the interior or exterior walls around the chimney

These are all serious issues that need to be addressed immediately; however, having All Star Chimney Solutions perform regular cleaning and inspections of your chimney will prevent these problems from developing. We highly recommend that you have your chimney cleaned at least twice a year to ensure it is safe and secure.
